The prop hub makes
contact with the crank
end about .100" prior to
contacting the crank
flange.
At Corvair College #8 we studied this
problem some more using a thin paper to
locate the contact point. We found that
the point of contact moved as we
rotated the prop hub so we used a fine
file to remove some material and then
installed the prop flange.

And yes, I did help install my own engine, but with this much help I didn't have much to
