I'm rebuilding the wings that were on Gene Byrds KR-2S. He crashed on
December 1st, 2001 on short final to Flyers Airpark in Linden NC.
The two photos above show the damage to the wings This is the bottom side of the left wing. There is
also one of the wheel paints on the wing that was also damaged in the crash.

I thought at first that I would seperate the skins from the spars to inspect the spars but later
decided that I would inspect only the portions of the spar I could see through the damaged
areas.
There is no distortion between the spars and I saw no damage to the spars. The fiberglass
tanks still had fuel in them after the crash.
